New Venture
Hello!
Just a quick note to all those out there in the blogosphere who are kind enough to check into The Crying Scotsman now and again! My brother has a new website up and running (that he is much more dedicated to than I am to this), and it’s a banger all right! I will be contributing odds and ends to the site as well…so keep yer eyes peeled.
The website address is www.elevenfiftysix.co.uk
It’s a compendium of spoof news and sports stories, as well as showcasing his 6 part mini-series called ‘The Ladder’- of which I feature in numerous starring roles.
As for The Crying Scotsman? What does the future hold? I don’t know and I may well come back to this beautiful, beautiful blog at some point in the near future- but rest assured I will always come back at completely random times to tell all about what’s going on.
The Sound Macleod Podcast has wrapped up, but there are rumblings of a Christmas Special, which after going off the airwaves is going to cause one hell of a buzz in the podcasting community that is for certain. I will be back when that is a go. But for now, Sound Macleod exists as a cult classic of about 15 hour long Podcasts, that maybe one day will be found by a new generation or sub-strata of culture and appreciated for what they were- insightful, hilarious, heartwarming and truly original music programming. Anyone who wants to experience all those emotions and more can search ‘Sound Macleod’ on iTunes or click the links to the right, and search Sound Macleod on Mixcloud for the programmes we made for London Fields Radio. Needless to say, once hugely famous and revered, these Podcasts will be bootleg gold for obsessed mentalists AKA fans.
I love you all out there whoever is reading. I’ll keep you updated, and in the meantime keep yer eyes peeled on www.elevenfifitysix.co.uk and keep on truckin’ (no idea why I typed that)

Hello!
First of all, my sincerest and most grovelling apologies for my total lack of activity over the last few weeks. If you’ve been unable to tear your eyes away from my blog you will know that I was moving flat. Which is now COMPLETE!! I am set up in the new place with internet access which seems a total luxury after the last month or so in world wide web purgatory.
Anyway!
The BIG NEWS is that my Sound Macleod Podcast is BACK with a vengeance. We have taken the podcast to London Fields Radio, a up and coming station based in Hackney. They do not broadcast live (yet), but upload all their shows onto Mixcloud. Please click through and check out their shows, but MOST IMPORTANTLY click HERE to hear our first Podcast for London Fields Radio.
Myself and Tom Guy are really excited about being involved with London Fields Radio, and we get to play whatever music we want, which is such a luxury! We hope you enjoy listening, and please spread the word about Sound Macleod!
No more videos on the cards quite yet. Rory my brother who films the random shit I create, is away on holiday at the moment, so come the next few weeks I may well have another short video to share with you.
I am going to start blogging again frequently from now on, letting you all know what random crap I churn out. I hope you enjoy wading through my crap until I produce something new soon….
Love you, Bye!

So thanks to everyone who has watched my Gambler video so far. Again the feedback has been complimentary, so thanks for that. As soon as I get pelters for anything I produce, then I promise I will stop. Check out the Sound Macleod YouTube Channel here
In other news, I was hugely impressed to read about this piece of business genius in the paper today. What a fantastic idea, and crazy that it is not already out there before!! This is bound to be a huge business. Only available in Bournemouth for now, but what odds that this kind of thing pops up everywhere? A potential bean flavoured goldmine when targeting students and party-goers. I will have to go down to Bournemouth for a night out and sample it’s delights.
Got a busy few weeks coming up. This weekend sees a full day of rugby on Saturday (Scotland are shit), followed by rehearsals for lots of different things. I want to squeeze in the creation of another video at some point, but at this moment in time I’m scared about making an estimated time of delivery on it…..let’s tentatively say the start of April maybe for the next one? I need to think up a new great idea first!
Enjoy life. Laugh, love, and cry- although not all at the same time.

Well finally, thank you for all being so patient- my new video is LIVE!! It’s a shorter production than my Skins Flick, and a totally different theme. I hope you all enjoy it, and if you do please leave me some comments and ratings on the ole YouTube. I’m having a lot of fun dreaming up these strange ideas and then executing them. My brother Rory is doing a fantastic job editing them and turning them into moderately funny pieces of video. If you didn’t spot my link at the top, then please WATCH IT HERE and MAKE IT GO VIRAL!!
It was a hell of an upload process as I don’t currently have WiFi in our short term digs, so had to upload via a 3G USB from T Mobile. Feel loved everyone, feel very loved. Anyway, I need to scoot now, we’re having a celebratory viewing of Taken, the classic Neeson Epic. I have been craving it since seeing his new movie ‘Unknown’ on Saturday night. It wasn’t nearly as good as Taken, but it made me crave it.
Off to watch Neeson find his daugher…..enjoy the new video and spread it amongst all the world please

Hello all. As is becoming the case in the last week or so, I start out by apologizing my wee nuts off to you for not blogging more. I have now successfully moved out of my flat and we’re into a temporary place for about a month. Needless to say internet connection is tres dodgy. However I come at you now with news of my latest video, so I have not just been doing sweet fuck all for the last few days. As well as boxing up my earthly possessions (which took a depressingly short amount of time), my and my brother Rory have shot 90% of the film for my next video, which as of course you know, is about a professional card player. We are polishing it off tonight (we need a night scene), and will hopefully edit tomorrow and be ready for release either tomorrow night, or Monday! Be excited…..it’s going to be mammoth. I once again get to dress up and parade myself around London like a first class bell end- which is surely enough to watch.
In other news, I’m off to see the new Neeson flick Unknown tonight. I bloody love ‘Taken’, and by all accounts this sees big Liam return to that kind of form. I can’t wait, I need a film that doesn’t make me think much at the moment, but contain great amounts of cool violence. I will report back to you tomorrow with a review along with my new video.
Remember also to check out my Sound Macleod Podcast. We’ve done 10 Episodes so far and as of April we are taking the show to London Fields Radio. Me and Tom Guy are very excited about it, and it also means we will finally have a regular monthly hour long show to share with you all. And we can play whatever music we like. Obviously we will keep an unsigned element to it. I’ll let you know when it goes live and kicking, thanks for the continued support of all the random bumpf I churn out!!

So folks, I first must extend my most heartfelt apologies for my lack of activity over the weekend. The much lauded and feared flat move is almost upon me, and it has been a sea of destruction for the last few days in the flat. Unearthing old crap to throw out, making the Sophie’s Choice-esque decisions on items of clothing and memorabilia. It’s heart-wrenching but I’m almost there. Wednesday sees us move out and into temporary residence. I will be staying active on the world wide web though! And making more videos I promise!! I think I’ve decided on the card player theme for the next one, which hopefully will come by this time next week. I promise!!
So, in other news, on BBC London’s Sunday Night Sessions last night, James Mathe was featured along with the band Revere. I have to say I was really impressed with James. He only uses 2 Casio keyboards and an ‘Omnitouch’, along with drummer Ben Brown. Check there MySpace here. What they did was hauntingly sparse electronic music. Quite minimalist but James’ vocals are just outstanding. I did not expect that voice to come out of him. Superb stuff, thoroughly recommend checking him out.
I should also now mention, that I come to you today from my brand spanking new, bank account crushing 15″ Macbook Pro. I am bloody loving it, it’s bigger, shinier and more impressive than my beloved 13″ white one from circa 2007. I am a happy, poor man. It is with this new machinery that I watched Charlie Sheen’s latest outburst. What an absolute mentalist!! He also came out yesterday in the paper saying that Hugh Hefner has had it right all along and that we on earth should have a polygamist society. Not quite as radical as some other people’s views but he’s still off his bloody nut. The link to the video there proves just how mad he is. Watch without the sound and just look at his mannerisms and eyes and you can tell that!! Oh Charlie, you visionary…..
Oh, and it looks like the Truth Is Out There. Have we actually found remnants of aliens here? And why is this not front page news? Can anything knock the usual shit off the front pages? Watch for 100 experts comments on these findings. They are to announce their report between now and Thursday. I will obviously relay any important martian banter.
Another quick plug, my Skins video is here if anyone is yet to see it! I promise I’ll bother you with something new soon enough….
And if anyone in Jersey is reading, tomorrow night sees the start of my ‘band’ rehearsing for the Jersey Jazz Festival this year which runs from 1st-3rd April. If you or anyone you know is out there please do come along! I’ll also be gigging at The Gallery in Hendon this coming Thursday 10th March, with Azzedine in an acoustic set. Piano, Sax, and Bass. Come and be impressed by us cool musicians
Peace and Love

My Skins Parody Video is surpassing all of my expectations. Mainly thanks to all you people out there who have taken the time to watch it. People seem to have enjoyed it and it’s great to see something you put literally 1 afternoon of work into get such nice feedback and praise. It has just passed 6,500 views on YouTube. I genuinely don’t know how, but I hope it keeps growing. It will also hopefully mean people will check out the other videos on my Channel. If you haven’t seen it then you are now officially in a minority and you can see what all the unnecessary fuss is about here
For my next mini-project, I have drafted up a list of 3 options. I’ve kind of settled on one, but would LOVE some feedback from anybody who would like to suggest a particular theme out of these (I don’t want to reveal too much): Gardener, Porridge, Professional Card Player. Purely going on that information, what would you like to see??? Let me know folks!
In other more appalling news, I recorded last nights Old Firm Derby while at work last night. Got home and watched it. It was an utter disgrace. Just a collection of total and utter thugs both on the pitch and off it. It makes me ashamed to support one of these teams and it reflects horribly on Scottish football. Yes, it is a passionate high profile derby, but 3 sendings, 13 yellow cards off as well as both sets of coaches getting very aggressive and in each others faces is simply not on and it overspills to the fans. Represented by 34 arrests inside the stadium, and 229 from after the game. Shocking. And the quality of football is shit as well!! Read the full story here. The game was so poor it’s not worth watching the actual highlights!
Yesterday also saw Apple announce the iPad 2. I was not hugely taken aback by the first iPad, I really don’t see the point if you have a iPhone and a laptop. In fact….that is exactly true about this second one as well. I don’t imagine I will purchase one, but it’s so fucking thin and future-y looking. Should I get one? Should I not? These problems come when you start to earn any sort of money (and I’m not earning enough to justify ANOTHER £450 on a shiny Apple product)……we shall see, but I swear I’ll abstain…….until summer…..maybe.
Anyway in conclusion please keep spreading the word on my Skins video and make this shizz go viral!! Thanks for watching all of my stuff, and the next little morsel will be coming at you in the next week.

Well folks, I said it would be here on Tuesday and once again have stuck to my word. My E4 Skin’s Parody is now LIVE on Youtube all you have to do is click here
This represents my first on screen appearance in any of my videos, so it’s a huge ground breaking moment. It’s also my longest clocking in at around 6 minutes. Please don’t get bored…..I’d love it if you are reading this, then click through to the video if you could spread it everywhere like a rash, leave comments and rate the video. And then watch all my other videos!! ENJOY!
On the stranger side of things I saw this on the news page at Sky this morning. What on earth? I suppose it’s actually a saving grace that this girl is chuffed to have the hairiest female face in the world. At least she is happy about it, but christ knows I wouldn’t be!! And I’m a guy!! The world is a strange and mysterious place is it not…..
Just a quick post today to let you know about the video, I am yet to decide what my next mini-project will be. Who knows? It all depends if you like the Skins one. So do please leave feedback wherever you like! I’m going to wait for my new beast Macbook at the end of this week to dive into another project. I will be moving house next week as well so it’s all going to be hectic. I will do my best to keep posting utter bollocks.

Bleak, Bleak Sunday

Well folks, it’s been a highly depressing Sunday for me being a sports fan. My beloved Scotland once again showed zero skill and cutting edge in their submission to an average Ireland this afternoon in the 6 Nations Rugby. If this does not interest you, please skip this mundane section….This was followed by Arsenal losing in embarrassing fashion in the Carling Cup. Which I’m not really that upset about, I just have friends who are Arsenal fans who get depressed…..
In much cheerier news, it’s looking likely my Sound Macleod Podcast is going to move to London Fields Radio, based in Hackney. I got in touch with them about me bringing Sound Macleod to their station as I’ve heard lots of good stuff about them. They are internet based at the moment, but it’s exciting to be involved in something that’s growing and has real ambition. It’s the same way that stations like Kiss and Capital start- either being pirate or community radio. Sound Macleod will take on a whole new set of listeners, and we will have great freedom in the music we can play (we can play copyrighted music hurrah!) and topics we can discuss! We hope you will continue listening when we eventually start producing the show with them. I can’t wait!!
I’m sure we’re all highly excited about tonight’s Oscars at which our man Colin is flying the flag for the UK. He’s pretty much a shoe-in for best actor, in fact bookies have started paying out already. Ahhh the uncertainty of it all! I must say I don’t think I’ll stay up to watch it, but the most heinous omission from the nominations has to be Christopher Nolan for Inception. The man single handedly wrote the story, and script then directed the best film of last year. It was a total mindfuck, and I loved every second of it. Shame on the Oscar Nominations Panel on overlooking him.
In even BETTER NEWS, my Skins video parody is off and running. We did all the necessary cheap slapshod filming for it this morning, and I will hopefully complete it tomorrow or Tuesday at latest. At which point I will upload and pester the internet to watch it. When it goes viral please spread it everywhere, including on your body. It involves a lot of stupid talking, and even stupider clothing. It will be monumental.
My song of the day today is inspired by Scotland’s continuing failure and my ever sapping faith in watching them play:

This guy’s ugly mug is in the news again
I thought we’d got shot of Piers Morgan when the good folks ‘Stateside’ adopted him as their own. I cannot stand the man. Never did I think someone would overtake Simon Cowell as the most disgusting man on television, but Piers Morgan achieved it and then some. Just a smarmy, rude, and awful television personality who hides out in the cavern’s of his own arse. If you hadn’t noticed, I’m not a huge fan. The Americans are welcome to him, and I hope he stays over there, although by the looks of the above article he’s cocking it up over there anyway!
Oh by the way. Check out my Online Dating Piss Take and Underground Song if you haven’t already
Yesterday saw the Macbook Pro Laptop line get a refresh. I have had my trusty old white 13 inch Macbook since Summer 2007, and when I noticed this refresh, I thought it’s about time I upgraded. So today I did. I spoke with a nice Irish Apple man, who made the process of forking out ridiculous sums of money very laid back and pleasureable. I went for a 15 incher, with Logic Express pre-installed for my Podcasting/Music needs. It will arrive next week and I’ll be sure to post exciting pictures of me updating the Crying Scotsman via my new beast. The addition of Logic Express will also mean my satirical songwriting gets a much needed facelift production-wise. On the down side, I now have little to no money in my savings account, so just as well I’m about to embark on some work next week that will hopefully snow-ball and snow-ball until I am fully engulfed in a giant snowball.
One thing I have not mentioned on here yet is my passion (and slight OCD obsession) with exercising. I made a conscious decision this time last year to eat healthy and exercise to the max. I’m so glad I did, because-(excuse the infomercial like line)- I’ve never felt better in my young existence. Anyway, I have just begun the latest self-inflicting pain routine, it’s called ‘Insanity’.
Ignore the hideously American style website and videos (which I actually quite enjoy when I do the workout DVD’s). It certainly lives up to it’s name. It is fucking. Brutal. But I do get a weird kick out of it. You feel great when you finish exercising each day, and I can tell that a month or so down the line I’m pretty much going to be Superman. I’m not one who posts constant pictures of myself to show off how fit I am, and I won’t subject you to such hideous images anyway. I genuinely do it for myself, and I can tell this Insanity thing is going to be the hardest and most rewarding thing I’ve ever done, and I’ve done a lot of fitness strength stuff before! Highly recommend it to anyway who is fit but wants to take it to the next level.
In other news, my Skins parody will be coming hopefully in the next week. I know! I know! I’m running late, but things are hectic with the flat move, and old laptops going, new ones coming. I will get it done when I can kids!
Hope you’re all living the high life, which is where song of the day comes in. Great Hip- Hop. ‘Nuff Said
